With all the “who could’ve imagined this would happen” changes going on in the world right now, I want to talk about how to keep your sanity during a pandemic. At least, this is how I did it with crystals.
My healing crystal journey started in mid-March 2020, just as the Covid pandemic was in full swing. How timely!
In this post, I’ll talk about how I maneuvered my way through the pandemic and came out on the other side stronger than ever!
Discovering My Calling
For years I’ve also been selling jewelry with stones that have meaning on eBay under my original store name of Headlines Boutique, but this was a new area for me to explore. And I LOVE crystals!
I first bought small stones, then I felt more secure and bought larger crystals, and as I continue to shop I’ve expanded into even bigger and more intense healing crystals.
Enrolling in Classes
Becoming a Certified Crystal Healer
I saw a class pop up on Facebook for a Certified Crystal Healer Certification Program and it took about 2 seconds to know I was very interested. Upon research, the Love & Light School of Crystal Therapy, with Ashley Leavy at the helm, drew my attention.
Since I practice Reiki, the Crystal Healer Certification was just the leveling up I was looking for. I was already using crystals with Reiki, but I wanted to know more! And what could be better during a pandemic than learning more about crystals? Nothing, right?
I learned about the formation and metaphysics of crystals, tuning in to a stone’s energy, chakra balancing, grid work, and so much more. I also, and most importantly, learned how to be a crystal healer, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. So awesome! I now use crystals in all my Reiki work with a clear understanding of what to do and how to do it.
The complementary class to the Certified Crystal Healer class is the Advanced Crystal Practitioner Program, which I’m still working on. This program focuses on self and distant healing with crystals, creating and using elixirs, healing animals and the environment, past-life healing, and more. The classes can be taken whenever time is available, and so I’m taking this course a little slower.
In working with aligning the chakras to keep in balance, I felt inspired to create Chakra Kits for different purposes.
There are also chakra kits for relationships, clearing anxiety, health, new beginnings, and more available on the website that are excellent to have on hand when you are feeling out of sorts in one of your chakras. I highly recommend everyone having at least one little bag of polished stones for self-care when the need arises.
Enrolling in the Tarot Reader Academy
And . . . I also enrolled in the Tarot Reader Academy Summer School Program with Ethony Dawn!
Okay, so there was a lot of free time in the early spring, and as summer came along, there’s now gardening and vacationing that’s been added to the schedule, so I slowed my education down a bit.
But I love the variety of classes in the Tarot Reader Academy! I learned about using Witches Runes (which I had never heard of before) in a Tarot reading. Awesome! Then I learned about the original Tarot from France, the Tarot De Marseille. Again, something brand new in my repertoire! I bought that deck, and still need to study further. I also got certified in Being Your Own BFF, which is a thorough study in reading cards for yourself.
Again, these classes are available at whatever pace works, so I’m taking my time . . . there are eight or nine more classes to take. They will be there for me as I’m drawn to them.
For mental clarity and help in retaining information, I used Tiger Eye to keep me focused on my studies. Tiger eye is also an excellent grounding stone and helps in moving forward to new beginnings.
Continuing to Practice Energy Work
Of course, I continue my energy work, learning and growing all the time! I’ve learned to read energy, trust my intuition, and work with many like-minded souls with many different healing modalities. I regularly attend healing sessions and workshops to tighten up my skills and tap further into my healing abilities.
The energy work helps me keep in alignment, removes what doesn’t serve my greatest good, and keeps me balanced. I have enough crystals surrounding me to work with when feeling out of sorts. There’s also the new knowledge, and notebook packed with the knowledge I haven’t retained to give me the tools to help myself maintain my cool, calm, and collected demeanor.
With a little labradorite puffed heart in my pocket or a labradorite pendant around my neck, I add a spark to my energy work to help open up the mental and intuitive abilities. Labradorite also clears, aligns, and recharges chakras. The perfect companion!
Other Healing Practices that Keep Me Grounded
My gardening is one of the most tranquil ways to heal the soul. Step outside . . . feel the warm air surround me and the sun on my face . . . and just take a look around! Every corner of the yard is a playground to play in. Do I head to the garden to see what’s ripened overnight? How about the front yard and the dried stalks of flowers gone by that need chopping down? Or any flower bed where the weeds popped up? I don’t know about you, but pulling weeds, picking vegetables, and chopping down dried stalks, is very cathartic. It’s basically mindless. When in need of slowing down and sunshine on my back, outside in the yard is where it’s happening!
Then there’s also my new love of taking pictures outside of all my crystals for the website and Instagram posts. I take out a whole box of whatever I can carry easily, and set up a spot to start shooting. I love how the pictures come out using the direct outside light! A whole new dimension to what I have to offer. And . . . I get to have another good reason to get outside.
I still continue doing Pilates and yoga to keep me flexible and strong. It’s the perfect balance of working, playing, and self-care. If I bring along a beautiful little rose quartz heart, I’ll encourage self-love, as well.
I’ve truly been blessed with so much good energy around me. When the energy is not so good, I know where to get myself straightened out and back in alignment.
Self-care is so important. Find what makes you happy and make sure you keep it in your daily routine, even if all you have time for is a 10-minute meditation or some stretching to keep the blood flowing. Classes are a wonderful way to keep the brain functioning and feeling accomplished in new-found knowledge.
We’re all psychic in some way, and stretching the psychic muscle by meditating and practicing energy reading techniques may open up a whole new world to you. There’s so much to learn!
Of course, I am an advocate for adding crystals to your life, if you haven’t already done so.
I have a free e-book available with my Top 12 Crystals to Clear and Balance Your Chakras to start your collection or add to it. Sign up and get on the mailing list for my monthly newsletter that offers something special each month (only to subscribers) and to find out what the latest monthly special power pack is.
My wishes are for everyone to find what balances and aligns their inner being. Try to keep yourself open to new ideas and new ways to help you feel whole. Find that crystal that resonates with you, and keep it close by when you need its powerful energy source. Remember that self-care and self-love are what’s going to carry you through in the difficult days and make life so much better for you and those around you.
Take care, gentle souls! Stay well, and continue to grow!
