I’ve been working on my Advanced Crystal Practitioner Certification and one of the classes is about making crystal essence elixirs. Elixirs are such a powerful tool for clearing out what ails you or for infusing energy into your being.

I chose to make an elixir for love, self-love, healing on all levels, clarity, and to give an energy boost to the day.

In this post, I’ll be showing you how to make your own crystal essence elixir at home.

 

 

There are 2 Different Ways You Can Make an Elixir:

1. Direct Method

Step One

For the Direct Method, you must choose your crystals carefully. ABSOLUTELY NO RADIOACTIVE OR TOXIC STONES! The crystals you choose go directly into the water you’re charging. They also need to be able to sit in water for 24 hours, so do your research and make sure you’re choosing crystals that won’t disintegrate in water.

Think about the purpose of the elixir. For love, self-love, relationships, matters of the heart, rose quartz is a good choice. That’s what I used. And I wanted to have a daily boost of focused energy and inspiration to get me through my busy days and get the most productivity possible each day. So I used four clear quartz crystal points to really charge up the water.

 

 

Step Two

I used a rose quartz bowl, which infuses the energy of the stone, and filled it with distilled water. A glass jar or bowl can be used. Or a quartz crystal bowl can be used, as well as any other water-safe, toxin-free bowl.

Then I added the clear quartz crystal points to the water, making sure to cleanse them physically and energetically (I’ll do another blog post about cleansing crystals if you’re not sure how to do that).

As you add the crystals to the water think about your intention for the elixir. My intention was to bring in love energy and high focused energy to the water. I covered the rose quartz bowl with plastic wrap and put it in the kitchen window for at least 24 hours so it received the sun and moon energy. I actually left it for 48 hours to super charge it!

 

 

Step Three

After it’s been charged up by the sun and moon, take off the covering, remove the crystals, and mix the infused water with either cider vinegar, vodka, or brandy. You’ll want to do mix in  25% of the preservative to the infused water. I used a glass measuring cup and filled it with 3/4 cup of the infused water, and then I added 1/4 cup of vodka.

 

 

Step Four

Bottle up your precious elixir in dark bottles with a dropper. Put a label on each bottle with the date, the crystals used, and the purpose for the elixir. Store the bottles in a cool, dark place. The refrigerator is perfect for that!

If you use cider vinegar as your preservative, you can store it for 2 to 3 months. Vodka is good for 3 to 4 months. And brandy is good for 4 to 6 months.

 

 

2. Indirect Method

Step One

For the Indirect Method you can actually use crystals that are toxic since they won’t go directly into the water, but no way should you use radioactive crystals because the radioactive energy will go through the glass container. Check with mindat.org to check on your choice of crystals to make sure they aren’t radioactive.

Choose your crystals according to the purpose of your elixir.

• For sleep issues, use amethyst and mangano calcite.
• For stomach discomfort, use a mookaite jasper, red jasper, and amethyst combo.

Pick the stones for your purpose and keep the variety to 6 or less.

 

 

Step Two

Now with the Indirect Method, the crystals stay outside of the water in a separate covered glass container. A large glass jar filled with water with a smaller glass jar with the crystals sealed up inside is perfect!

If you have a crystal slab such as fluorite or selenite, put the jar of water on the slab to pick up the energy from that stone, too! The idea is to have the crystals touching the jar of water to infuse the water with the crystal energy.

Set an intention, and leave under the sun and moon for 24 to 48 hours for infusion.

Follow Steps Three and Four above.

Elixir Dosage

Your amazing elixir is ready for daily use! In the first month, take no more than 6 drops twice a day or 3 drops four times a day. Let your body get used to the energy it’s taking in during the first month and feel free to adjust the amount if you are feeling overwhelmed.

After the first month, take a maintenance dose of 3 to 4 drops a day.

In Conclusion

There you have it! I mixed up a big batch of self-love and focused energy elixir and tried it out right away! It may take a month to feel a shift, but I did feel the energy boost right away . . . right down to tingling in my feet! So awesome!
